It is a grand dame of Athens hotels and lives up to it. I can't remember ever seeing such a stunning Christmas tree in any hotel worldwide. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The top floor restaurant is really good too and you dine with an Acropolis view.

My stay at the hotel was outstanding. The staff are very helpful, attentive and kind. The butler staff were superior in all they have done ( Olga, Mohamed & Panos). I really recommend this hotel for anyone looking for quality, convenience and top notch services.

First of all, photos do not do enough justice to the place. It looks great in pictures, however you get a truly "wow" feeling once you get there. Especially Alexander's Winter Palace. The best part of our stay was the anticipation to get back after a day's journey. The food was tasty, vegetables and fruits looked fresh, professional staff, clean place and fast internet speed. Why wouldn't we? :) One more thing that stood out was attention to details. For example, if you're an early morning coffee enthusiast, mini-bar is equipped with everything you need.

Location great… right next to the main pedestrian street Ermou and Syntagma Square (where the Parliament is). 24 min walk from Acropolis/Parthenon. 10 min walk to Plaka neighborhood. King George Tudor Hall restaurant for Dinner is Michelin star and amazing! I recommend not taking included breakfast for the entire stay especially since you can always decide to add it when you’re there (no need for reservations…this leaves you with the option to eat outside since there’s so much close by. BUT…I definitely recommend to try the hotel breakfast at least once…and after eating once you might decide to do it again like I did 😊!) All staff absolutely amazing!! Friendly and always there to help, and they go above and beyond

Our room was clean and well provided for with products and a desk was available to complete some work. Our bed was comfortable and our room quiet. This large older style hotel has many corridors and our room overlooked an outdoor space. The food quality and price was excellent with a great respresentation of some of the best wines from multiple regions in Greece. We enjoyed tasting these wines with good food.

Staying at Hotel Grande Bretagne was the peak experience of our three weeks in Greece. The excellent location, the magnificent views from our room, the wonderful meal, the caring service - everything was perfect. I'd especially like to thank the manager who got us the delightful room with a view. Thanks for your help and sympathy!

The Grande Bretagne is truly a beautiful hotel and we can't wait to stay again. The surroundings are so elegant and the staff were lovely . We loved the pool and leisure area as did our daughter . Phenomenal location . Highly recommended!!

This is such a centric and beautiful hotel, the view is the Acropolis is breathtaking day or night. I don’t rate it a 10 because we had difficulty with the checking in, we were charged twice by the front desk and of course the credit card company thought it was fraud. We were then approached as if it was our fault that they charged it twice and the cc company block it all together. We were able to resolved it but the correction took several days of an extra charge of > $5,000 in our credit card in the middle of our family’s summer vacation. If one can avoid something like that happening to you, then one would have a phenomenal time at this gorgeous hotel in this iconic and historic city.

Staying at The Hotel Grande Bretagne, is a unique experience. When you are entering the hotel, you can clearly see from the beginning the meaning of luxury. The personnel is extremely kind and they treat everyone special. The room was really clean and the bathroom was gorgeous. The cleaning staff was very polite with us and they offered us chocolate and water once we arrived. The breakfast area was at the rooftop and the view was absolutely stunning with the variety of food options, making our mornings unforgettable. Last but not least, in the evening we swam to the pool that was fantastic. We would like to thank everyone for that pleasant stay and we are looking forward to visit Grande Bretagne again.
